Career Development Center is licensed by the State Board for Proprietary Education and approved by the Kentucky Real Estate Commission. We offer courses to the public which allow prospective real estate sales associates and brokers to meet educational requirements necessary for licensure and continuing education.

Questions and Answers
1. How do I qualify for a Kentucky real estate license?
You must... -- be at least 18 years of age -- have a high school education, or equivalent -- complete our 96 hour, state approved Sales Associate License Course -- pass the state exam with a score of 75 percent or higher -- submit a FBI Criminal Background check. All persons applying for a Kentucky Real Estate License on or after July1, 2001 shall submit proof of an FBI Criminal Background Check to the Commission as a part of the application for a real estate license. This record must indicate that there have been no felony convictions at any time or any misdemeanor convictions within the previous five-year period. Some types of felonies and misdemeanors on your record may prevent you from getting your license. Please contact the Kentucky Real Estate Commission before taking the class or exam.
2. How is the course organized?
The 96 hour course is divided into 24 classes. Each class stands alone and may be taken in any order, in any of our locations, as many times as you want, at no additional cost. When you have completed all 24 classes you will take a final exam and receive a transcript.
3. Where are CDC's classes offered?
Classes are offered on a regular basis in several locations including Lexington, London, Ashland and Bowling Green.
4. Do I need to be a resident of Kentucky?
No. You are not required to be a resident of Kentucky. If you hold a real estate license in another state you may be able to receive a Kentucky license without the course or exam. Check with the KREC at www.krec.ky.gov regarding this issue.
5. Is the market saturated with real estate sales associates?
No. The market will never be to saturated with good real estate sales associates, and you are the only one who will decide if you will be a good associate.
6. How much money can I make?
That is totally up to you. If you are motivated and dedicated, the sky's the limit.
7. Who teaches the classes?
CDC has instructors who are excited about teaching real estate. Not only do they have general knowledge about real estate, they each bring to the classroom a wealth of experience to share with each group of students.
8. I haven't been to school in years. Do you think I'll be able to pass the state exam?
Learning is a life-long process. You will be suprprised how your life skills and knowledge will help you as an adult student. The main thing is to concentrate and stay focused for the time it takes you to complete the course. It is a short course that can literally change your life forever.
9. When may I begin class?
Career Development Center offers several real estate courses and classes throughout the year. Click on our Schedule Page to look at the most current classes going on, or about to begin. Remember, you may begin with any class because you can take the classes in any order, in any location once you have registered.
Refund Policy: 100% refund prior to class beginning and books are returned in good re-useable condition. Written notice no later than day before class starts for refund. Refund within 30 days of receiving written request. Registration may be moved to another class with no charge after class starts.
